Routine Exams & Cleanings

Regular dental exams and professional cleanings are essential for maintaining both your oral health and your overall well‑being. During your routine visit, our team takes a comprehensive approach—evaluating your teeth, gums, bite, and jaw while also screening for cavities, gum disease, enamel wear, and other early warning signs that may not yet be causing symptoms.

Using digital X‑rays and advanced diagnostic tools when needed, we can detect problems early—often before they require more extensive treatment. Our hygienists then perform a thorough cleaning to remove plaque and tartar buildup that brushing and flossing alone can’t eliminate. This helps prevent decay, reduce inflammation, and keep your gums healthy and strong.

We also believe education is a key part of prevention. During your visit, we’ll discuss your oral hygiene routine, answer questions, and provide personalized recommendations tailored to your lifestyle and dental history. These routine appointments—typically scheduled every six months—play a critical role in protecting your smile and minimizing future dental costs.

Tooth Extractions

Our philosophy is always to preserve your natural teeth whenever possible. However, when a tooth is severely damaged, infected, overcrowded, or impacted, a tooth extraction may be the best option for protecting your overall oral health.

At Hayslip Center for Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, extractions are performed with careful planning and a focus on patient comfort. Using advanced imaging and 3D diagnostics, we evaluate the tooth, surrounding bone, and nearby nerves to ensure a safe, precise procedure. Local anesthesia is used to eliminate discomfort, and sedation options may be available for patients with dental anxiety or more complex needs.

After your extraction, our team provides detailed aftercare instructions and ongoing support to promote proper healing. We’ll also discuss tooth replacement solutions—such as dental implants, bridges, or dentures—when appropriate, helping you maintain a healthy bite and confident smile long after the procedure is complete.

Root Canal Therapy

When infection or inflammation reaches the inner pulp of a tooth, root canal therapy is often the best way to relieve pain and preserve the natural structure of your smile. Thanks to modern techniques and advanced technology, today’s root canals are efficient, highly effective, and far more comfortable than their reputation suggests.

During the procedure, the infected tissue is carefully removed, the inside of the tooth is cleaned and disinfected, and the space is sealed to prevent future infection. Our precise imaging tools allow us to treat the tooth thoroughly while protecting the surrounding tissue. Most patients experience immediate relief from pain and are able to return to normal activities shortly after treatment.

To strengthen and protect the tooth long‑term, a custom dental crown is typically placed following root canal therapy. This restores full function while blending seamlessly with your natural smile. With proper care, a tooth treated with a root canal can last a lifetime—making it a reliable, tooth‑saving solution.

Solea Laser Dentistry

At Hayslip Center for Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we’re proud to offer one of the most revolutionary advancements in modern dental care: Solea Laser Dentistry. The Solea Laser allows us to perform many common procedures—including fillings, soft tissue treatments, and even some gum surgeries—without the need for drills, needles, or numbing in most cases.

This CO₂ dental laser works with remarkable precision, using light energy to vaporize decay and reshape tissue with minimal discomfort. The result? A gentler, quieter, and often faster experience for patients of all ages. There’s no high-pitched drilling noise, no lingering numbness, and significantly reduced bleeding and healing time compared to traditional methods.

Whether you have dental anxiety or simply want a more comfortable way to receive care, Solea Laser Dentistry can transform your experience. Patients often leave their appointments surprised at how quick and painless their treatment was—making it easier than ever to stay on top of your dental health.

With Solea, we’re able to combine world-class results with unmatched comfort—and that’s a difference you’ll feel from the very first visit.

Sedation Dentistry

We understand that for many patients, going to the dentist can be a source of anxiety or fear. That’s why we offer sedation dentistry options designed to help you feel calm, safe, and fully at ease throughout your visit. At Hayslip Center for Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, your comfort isn’t optional—it’s a top priority.

We provide two highly effective forms of sedation:

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

Nitrous oxide is a mild, fast-acting sedative inhaled through a small mask placed over your nose. It helps you feel relaxed and at ease within minutes, but you’ll remain awake and able to respond throughout your procedure. The effects wear off quickly after treatment, allowing you to safely return to normal activities the same day.

This is an excellent option for patients with mild anxiety, sensitive gag reflexes, or children who need help staying calm during their appointment.

Oral Conscious Sedation

For those with more moderate to severe dental anxiety—or those undergoing longer procedures—oral conscious sedation may be recommended. This involves taking a prescribed sedative before your appointment, which helps you feel deeply relaxed and worry-free during your care. You’ll remain conscious and responsive, but may feel drowsy or not remember much of the procedure afterward.

Oral sedation requires planning ahead, including arranging for someone to drive you to and from your visit. Our team will provide clear instructions to ensure a smooth and safe experience.
