Snoring and Sleep Apnea Care for Walden
Walden is an unincorporated community in Bibb County, on the south side of the Macon area, and our office in Warner Robins is about 20 minutes away. A dentist can help with sleep problems more than most people expect. If you snore loudly, wake up tired after a full night in bed, or your partner has noticed you stop breathing at night, a dental sleep evaluation is a good place to start.
Getting Here from Walden
Take US 41 (Industrial Highway) south to North Houston Lake Boulevard, continue on South Houston Lake Road and turn onto Russell Parkway to reach 1295 Russell Parkway in Warner Robins. The trip is about 11 miles and roughly 20 minutes without traffic. We see patients Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Signs Worth Paying Attention To
- Loud, frequent snoring
- Gasping or choking during sleep
- Morning headaches or a dry mouth
- Daytime fatigue, even after seven or eight hours in bed
Not everyone who snores has sleep apnea. But obstructive sleep apnea, where the airway narrows or collapses during sleep, has been linked to high blood pressure and heart disease, so it should not be ignored.
How We Help
Oral Appliance Therapy
For patients with obstructive sleep apnea, a custom oral appliance gently positions the jaw to help keep the airway open. It is small, quiet and easy to travel with, and many people find it a comfortable alternative to a CPAP machine. Dr. Curtis O. Hayslip holds advanced certification in sleep dentistry. Solea Sleep for Snoring
Solea Sleep uses laser energy to tighten tissue in the soft palate, which reduces the vibration that causes snoring. Treatment typically takes under 10 minutes, with no cutting or stitches, and most people go straight back to their day. It is intended for snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea. See our Solea laser dentistry page for details.
Working With Your Physician
Sleep apnea is a medical diagnosis. If you have not had a sleep study, we can talk about next steps. If you already have a diagnosis and struggle with CPAP, bring your results to your visit so we can see whether an oral appliance is an option for you.
Why Sleep Matters for Your Teeth
Poor sleep and dental health are often connected. People who breathe through their mouth at night tend to have a dry mouth, which raises the risk of cavities and gum irritation. Clenching or grinding can also show up alongside disrupted sleep and leave teeth worn or cracked. During your visit, we look for these signs in your mouth too, so a sleep consultation can turn up problems you had not noticed.
Walden Sleep FAQs
Can I keep seeing my current dentist for cleanings?
Yes. Sleep appliances can be fitted and adjusted here while your regular checkups stay where they are. Of course, we are happy to provide your general dental care as well.
How long does an oral appliance take to make?
We take a digital scan of your teeth, which replaces messy impression trays. Your appliance is then made from that 3D model, and we schedule a fitting once it is ready.
